Pohoiki Open Concert

Mahalo to everyone who joined us for the 2014 Puna Music Festival. See you next year!

It was an amazing day at Pohoiki! Check out the gallery >

The Pohoiki Open Concert on Sunday May 4th from 11:00am – 5:00pm is our opening event of the 2014 Puna Music Festival. This free outdoor concert is at a beautiful location adjacent to the surf beach known to be the heart of Puna. All donations at the concert support Hawaiian culture programming at schools, halaus, and nonprofits throughout Puna.

We are thrilled to announce this year’s lineup for our free outdoor concert at Pohoiki, and are deeply honored to feature Paula Fuga as our headline performer, as well as John Cruz.

Hosted by Kaʻea and DJ Paris Decambra from KAPA FM, the day will start off with Kumu Hula (teacher of hula), Ehulani Stephany and performers from her Halau Hula Ka Makani Hali Ala O Puna, and will be followed by Keiki o ka ʻAina, a series of performances by young people from local schools. As the day continues, enjoy food and shopping from local vendors along with performances from groups and artists throughout Puna.

A Keiki zone will be available, courtesy of SPACE and Hiccup Circus.

Pohoiki is Really Green!

We are excited about efforts to make the Pohoiki Open Concert a green event.  The entire concert is run on solar power – no need for the sound and smell of a generator, and in fact the sound techs and musicians love it as the power is uniform and clean!

Mahalo to Solar Rayes for sponsoring clean solar power at the Pohoiki, to help keep our beautiful air and environment clean.
